The Northeast Kingdom is one of the least populous regions in the country. Approximately 32 people per square mile compared to NYC's whopping 26,400. So... how do you meet people if you're new to the area or seeking professional connections?

Grow yourself, grow your community.

Rural areas like the Northeast Kingdom still depend heavily on local partnerships to thrive. When you're successful, the whole Northeast Kingdom benefits. Our region needs leadership and thriving businesses for economic strength. And you need to make a living and have a good time.

The great thing about networking in our underpopulated area is that it doesn't take long to meet practically everyone. Pretty soon, you'll see familiar faces everywhere you go.

We rely on each other here in the Northeast Kingdom, and that's good thing. You'll know who to call when a pipe bursts. And your neighbors will know to call you when they need a real estate photographer. Or a large animal vet. Or whatever it is that you do!

Benefits of Networking

  • Meet face-to-face with people who can help you or use your help

  • Exchange ideas, gain mentors, and refine your skill set

  • Learn new things to broaden or change your career

  • Solidify your sense of purpose

That last one is a biggie. Networking isn't just about financial gain. It's about establishing your role in the community and developing strong relationships to fulfill your need to belong. We're social creatures who thrive in groups. And when you live out here in the mountains, you've got to work for it!
